Garrett is a big, imposing LHP with easy, smooth arm action. His velocity is in the high 80s with more in the tank. His breaking ball is sharp and he already shows an advanced feel for a change-up. Garrett is a young left-hander with a high ceiling.
Garrett went 6-1 including a no-hitter during his 2008 high school season with La Costa Canyon. He recorded 77 strikeouts in 66 innings pitched. He is being recruited by Stanford, Notre Dame,
