ATHLETE PROFILE

JOSH ELANDER

Josh is a solidly built catcher with outstanding overall athleticism. At the Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament, he was the consensus choice as the best player in attendance. He ran a 6.78 60-yard dash and displayed release times in the 1.90-1.96 range thanks in large part to his 91 mph arm strength. He also showed power potential at the plate.  His body and catch and throw skills evoke comparisons to Devin Mesoraco, 2007 first round pick (15th overall) of the Cincinnati Reds.

Josh hit .421 in district play with his high school program.  He is currently hitting .491 with five homeruns, two triples and four doubles for his summer team, the Austin Slam.  Josh is being recruited by various programs including Texas Tech, University of Texas, Texas A&M, and Nebraska.
