Stephen is another fine 2009 middle infielder from the state of Florida. We first saw Stephen at the 2008 Under Armour Southeast Tournament, operated by Team One Baseball. Although he is a bit under-sized, he can really play. His game shows no weakness as he runs well, shows sure hands and a strong arm in the field and swings the bat well from both sides of the plate. Combine that with a high baseball IQ and Perez has added his name to the list of elite infielders in the 2009 class. 

Stephen hit .385 for his high school team in 2008.  Last summer he hit .427 with the All-American Prospects, stealing 42 bases.  Stephen has verbally committed to play baseball at the University of Miami.
