Gennett first caught our attention at the 2008 Under Armour Pre-Season All America Tournament, where he was among the best at the event both in terms of pure ability and the ability to use his tools. He ran a 6.67 in the 60-yard dash and showed an excellent glove at 2B to go with arm strength. Since then, he has added raw power to his now nearly complete set of tools. This has sparked his rise towards the top of the 2009 class of middle infielders.
